Emergency Services

Family Support Emergency Services Program

PCA’s Emergency Services Program is funded through the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG). These funds are used throughout the nation in an effort to eliminate the causes and conditions of poverty. This program provides short-term critical support to households in immediate need to alleviate the stress of crises and act as a stepping-stone toward stabilizing urgent situations.

What services are available?
Emergency Services is intended to provide immediate relief to address crisis situations. This may include financial assistance with rent, mortgage, utilities, emergency lodging, or other areas of immediate need for eligible households.

When and how can I apply?
Applications are accepted by appointment only, and appointments are limited based on available program funding and staff capacity. Before an appointment can be scheduled, you must first complete our online screening form. The screening helps us determine whether you may qualify for an appointment and which services may be available to assist you.

What is a screening?
A screening is the first step in our application process. During this time, we ask several questions regarding your needs to determine if you qualify for an appointment. The screening process does not guarantee an appointment or establish program eligibility. Final eligibility will be determined after you provide all required documents and meet with a case worker.

How do I complete a screening?
The fastest and preferred way to complete a screening is linked below. Participants who have access to the internet are strongly encouraged to use the online screening form linked below. Phone screenings are only available to households who are unable to complete online screenings because of accessibility needs or limited access to the internet, computer, smartphone, or other technology. If you need assistance completing your screening, please call our office and a staff member will assist you. Please note that all screenings are accepted in a first come, first served basis regardless of the submission method.

Completing a screening does not guarantee an appointment or assistance. We encourage you to complete the online screening as soon as possible when screenings are available, as appointment availability may fill quickly.
