2022-2023 Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) Heating

The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) for heating is available to all income eligible households in DeKalb, Gwinnett, Rockdale, Newton, and Walton Counties. This program offers a payment of $350, $450, or $500 once per program year to be applied to your home heating bill.

ATTENTION: ALL APPOINTMENTS ARE IN PERSON. DECEMBER AND JANUARY ARE FULLY BOOKED! APPOINTMENTS FOR FEBRUARY WILL BE RELEASED AT THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR.

When can I apply?
November 1, 2022, for senior citizens ages 65 and older and medically homebound households, and December 1, 2022, for general public households.

How can I apply? 
All appointments for December and January are fully booked. PCA will release additional appointments at the beginning of the year. To cancel or reschedule your appointment, please use the button below.

Who can apply? 
Residents of DeKalb, Gwinnett, Rockdale, Newton, and Walton counties that meet income eligibility guidelines as listed below.

What should I bring to my appointment?
Please note that all appointments will be done in person. You must bring a valid ID, social security cards for all household members, proof of income for the last 30 days for all household members 18 and older, current gas bill (if applicable), and current electric bill. Please complete the following questionnaire prior to your appointment. You may upload your required documents here, if preferred.


What if I miss my appointment? 
If you are more than 30 minutes late or miss your appointment, you will need to book a new appointment using our web scheduler.

How long does this process take? 
Please allow 6-10 weeks for physical payment to be received. We ask that you continue paying your bill as much as possible during this time to prevent disconnection. If you are facing imminent disconnection, additional measures may be taken for eligible accounts to prevent loss of service. 

How can I check the status of an application that I already submitted?
